"over glasses" not very true - Adam Mizban - Monday, November 9, 2020
I bought these because I assumed they would fit nicely over my glasses, but they don't do that very much. It leaves a pretty big gap all the way around (slightly bigger gap on forehead). I tried them without my glasses, and they hug my face perfectly with no gaps. Problem is I need my glasses to see... I figured out the reason why they don't fit over glasses though: If you look at these goggles from a top-down view, and compare it with a top-down view of ANY pair of eyeglasses, you'll notice that the eyeglasses are mostly planar (flat) along the front face, however, these laser goggles are very curved along their front face, as they are form-fitting to the face. So as you would imagine, trying to fit flat eyeglasses underneath a curved goggle doesn't work very well, in this case because there isn't enough "inside space" between your face and the inner-surface of the laser goggle lense, to fully enclose your glasses within them. If I maybe bend my glasses at the bridge, I could probably get them to fit inside properly, but obviously, I'm not going to do that. For reference, my glasses frames are "new wayfarer" style from Ray Ban. I may add some sort of foam lining around the rim, so that my vision is 100% protected. I looked all over eBay, and I don't think a proper-sized laser goggle exists, unless you get ultra-proffesional, super-expensive ones. The laser-blocking ability is terrific though, tested with a very bright 532 nm dpss laser pointer. Shipping was very speedy, and that was nice. So for the price, and true laser-blocking ability, it's fairly-somewhat worth buying. I was in need of a pair of REAL laser protection, instead of all the fake Chinese lies on eBay, and that is what I got, fit or no-fit. I just wish survival laser carried more variety from this brand though. I would like to get this same style at different wavelengths (they DO exist), but SL only has just this one.
